Position: Electrical Designer
IN MY POSITION , I RECEIVED A LIST OF THE PROPOSED EQUIPMENT AND THIER POWER SPECIFICATIONS AND A SITE PLAN SHOWING THE PROPOSED PLACEMENT OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT. IT WAS MY TASK TO CREATE THE POWER DISTRIBUTION AND DOCUMENTATION FOR THE SITE INSTALLATION WITHA E-HOUSE AS THE SOURCE OF UTILITY ENTERING THE SITE. i WILL HAVE TO ADD THE SPECIFICATION CALCULATIONS LATER AS I DON'T SEEM TO HAVE A COPY AND MUST CHECK POTHER SAVED MEDIA LIKE "ZIP" DISKS I NO LONGER CAN ACCESS.
THIS 1ST IMAGE IS OF A SITE PLAN SHOWING THE LOCATION OF THE PROPOSED EQUIPMENT
HOVERING OVER THE RECTANGLE AT LOWER PORTION OF SLIDE SHOW WILL ALLOW YOU TO CONTROL THE SPEED OF SLIDE ADVANCE MENT FOR CLEAR VIEWING AND READING) (REMOVE FROM HOVER WHEN READY TO AUTO ADVANCE.) (YOU CAN SWIPE TO GO BACK)
THIS IS A CLOSE UP SHOWING THE PLACEMENT OF THE EQUIPMENT (REPRESENTED BY BUBBLES WITH ABBREVIATIONS TO IDENTIFY EQUIPMENT LOCATIONS.
NEXT STEP IDENTIFY SWITCH BOARDS AND MCC'S WITHIN THE E-HOUSE THAT WOULD BE SUPPLYING POWER TO REMOTE EQUIPMENT AND DESIGN GROUNDING FOR THE SYSTEM.
NEXT TO CALCULATE THE OVERCURRENT PROTECTION EQUIPMENT AND CONDUCTOR AND CONDUIT SIZING TO CREATE SWITCHBOARD DESIGNS.
Next CREATE THE SAME CALCULATIONS FOR MCC'S THAT WOULD BE SUPPLYING FIELD EQUIPMENT, CONDUCTOR AND CONDUIT SIZING AND VOLTAGE DROP. LATER CALCUALTIONS OF CONDUCTOR DERATIONS BASED ON CONDUIT AND DUCT BANKS, TO BE DESIGNED LATER
THE NEXT IMAGE SHOWS THE PANEL FRONT FOR THE SWITCHBOARDS AND IDENTIFY THE BUCKETS AND THEIR SIZES. SELECTING A BUS SIZE AND AN APPROPRIATE ENCLOSURE.
HERE YOU CAN SEE THE CONDUCTOR , CONDUIT AND MARSHALLING PANEL DESIGN INCLUDED IN THE SINGLE LINE AS A DETAIL.
ALSO TO REPEAT THE SELECTION OF BUS AND CONTAINER FOR THE MCC AND SIZE BUCKETS APPROPRIATELY TO ASSURE A MCC MEETING REQUIREMENTS.
HERE IS A SECTION OF THE SINGLE LINE SHOWING SPECIFICATION DETAILS OF OVERCURRENT PROTECTION, CABLE AND CONDUCTOR, REQUIRED POWER DISTRIBUTION AND CONTROL EQUIPMENT AND MARSHALLING PANELS..
ALSO ROUTING NOTES TO DESCRIBE DUCT BANKS, CONDUCTORS, AND CONDUIT ARRRANGEMENT FOR LATER DUCT BANK DESIGNS AND STUB UPS.
DISTANCES ANALYZED FROM SOURCE TO EQUIPMENT - MARSHALLING PANELS WERE TO BE IMPLEMENTED AS NEEDED..
NEXT INDIVIDUAL MARSHALLING PANELS WERE DESIGNED TO HANDLE BOTH HIGH VOLTAGE AND LOW VOLTAGE, BUT SEPARATED TO AVOID SIGNAL NOISE IN LOW VOLTAGE WIRES.HERE IS A PANEL EXTERIOR.
PANEL INTERIORS WERE DESIGNED TO SEPARATE LOW VOLTAGE FROM HIGH VOLTAGE, ANALYSIS OF CABLE SIZE TO OPTIMIZE THE CORRECT ENCLOSURE, WITH TERMINAL STRIP LAYOUTS AND BOM TO DEFINE THE DESIGN..
HERE IS AN DIAGRAM OF THE LOW VOLTAGE TERMINAL STRIP.
AND THE HIGH VOLTAGE TERMINAL STRIP WITH ITS BOM.
FINALLLY A SCHEMATIC FOR CONTROL WIRING AND LIGHTING FOR THE PANEL.
BASED ON THE CONDUCT AND CONDUIT NOTES, I THEN DESIGNED THE DUCT BAMKS AND UNDERGROUND RUNS OF CONDUIT. TO ESTIMATE THE QUANTITY OF CEMENT NECESSARY FOR BURIAL AND "CONDUIT AND CONDUCTOR" LENGTHS FOR QUOTING COSTS..
FINAL DOCUMENTATION BROUGHT IT ALL TOGETHER SHOWING THE SITEPLAN, ALL THE EQUIPMENT, POWER DISTRIBUTION, DUCT BANKS , MARSHALLING PANELS AND DETAILS FOR CONSTRUCTION.
